Today marks the official opening of my astrological practice. I quit my day job at the end of November last year, with full encouragement and support from my husband and family. I am the luckiest girl ever. This has gifted me seven of the last twelve months to focus as much as possible on cultivating what I ultimately know is my calling, which is, but is not limited to, being a professional astrologer.
From the readings I’ve had with clients to the connections I’ve made with fellow astrologers, I’ve never felt more fulfilled in any other role. I am deeply and sincerely grateful for the opportunities and support that have led me to this point in my journey.
To be 100% honest with you though, it still feels like SHA is in the process of being born. However, I still think today is worth recognizing, for it’s the day I decided to bet on myself and come out of the astrology closet as a budding professional!
All of which really meant SO much more…
It meant committing to a path in pursuit of learning forevermore, committing to the humble hopes of offering what I know about ancient astrology and esoteric philosophy to others as a helpful hand to those who feel lost or in need of another perspective.
Committing to Astrology!
Which is a great sacred tool passed down from our ancient forebears. As I know so many other astrologers do in the community, I, too, take the role I find myself in very seriously and feel a certain responsibility to tend the flames of the tradition to ensure it stays alive.
(And not just a debauched sun sign column in the back of Cosmo or a silly internet meme)
My intention with SHA is to carry on the original foundations and purposes in our modern world and that all works I carry out be done in a fashion that would make our ancient Astrological Priests and Priestesses proud as fuck. <3
In the great words of Manly P Hall in his cornerstone speech at the Philosophical Research Society:
“We firmly hope here we have set up a pillar in the world in which we live. A column that shall stand and that, in this Western world, will grow and increase until it represents a real and enduring power—working for good, working for principles,
working for truth. Through the consecration of individuals who believe these things and do not wait for others to do the work but do it themselves.
For in this way only can the work be done…
We feel that this example may help others in doubt and growing up in a world of uncertainty…. to realize that there are, in this world, foundations in eternity—
foundations in principles and in truths...
Foundations that shall not fail.”
Thank you, dearest reader. For being here and for reading. If you care to know what I have in the works for this coming year, please subscribe to my mailing list at the bottom of my home page <3
